Electronic Guy

Electronic Guy – Benoît Maubrey (Germany)

Saturday 26 October, 2013, 2pm

Deiniol Shopping Centre, Bangor, Wales | Free

Bangor Sound City’s second season continues with Berlin sound artist Benoît Maubrey’s performance Electronic Guy.

Originally built in 1987 for the mayor of Berlin with a pre-recorded cassette of people saying”Berlin tut gut” (Berlin does you good), Maubrey will premiere an all-new Electroacoustic Evening Jacket for Bangor Sound City.

« Imagine a concert that’s not about the music, and a piece of art that’s not about what you’re looking at. With this in mind, you may be ready for Electronic Guy, a performance by international artist Benoit Maubrey. » – Edie Adelstein, Colorado Springs Independent

Benoît Maubrey is the director and founder of DIE AUDIO GRUPPE a Berlin-based art group that build and perform with electronic clothes that make sounds by interacting thematically and acoustically with their environment.
In his non-mobile sculptural work he frequently uses former public (disguarded) monuments and recycles them using modern technology and electronics.

Assemble by Clock Tower / Deiniol Shopping Centre entrance, High Street, Bangor, North Wales.
